Assistant Professor, Professional or Technical Writing

The Department of English at Virginia Tech invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Advanced Assistant Professor to support a new undergraduate specialization in professional writing and to participate in developing graduate programs. This position is dependent upon final budget approval. Teaching load 2/2. Required: Ph.D. in professional or technical writing, rhetoric, or other appropriate discipline; evidence of potential for research in the field; and teaching experience. Workplace experience desirable. Applications from candidates in all research areas in professional or technical writing are welcome. Preferred specializations in research or teaching include usability, knowledge management, or digital rhetoric.
