[SFRA-L] THE THING (from Another World): 2011 Prequel

"Is Ellen Ripley good for the women?" That's a really interesting 
question, and I'd love to hear more about it.  Can someone refer me to a 
good analysis of the Ripley character with regards to gender politics?
