[SFFLibraries-L] Apologies to the List from the listowner

Dear SF & F Libraries-L Members:
Just a few minutes ago you probably received SFFLibraries-L, 9 (1),
joyfully thinking that this extremely low-traffic list had its first new
message in some time.
Unfortunately, it consisted of two messages from an unknown individual
using the e-dress of overstock at gmail.com. This spam-scum actually
subscribed to the list! Usually these wretches do not go to the trouble,
preferring to broadcast their useless, deceptive, miserable messages to
all the e-dresses that they have been able to buy from equally vile
spam-enabling filth.
Until now, I have been able to keep this stuff off the list, by
requiring that all posts come from individuals who have signed up for
the list. This means that the listserv alerts me to some 5-20 messages a
day intended for the list, but which come from non-subscribers. The
Mailman software allows me to discard these messages and to ban the
appended e-dresses from ever subscribing.
Since this incident, I have a) Unsubscribed the offending e-dress, and
b) set the entire list to Moderation. As I understand it, all messages
(not just those from non-subscribers) will have to be approved by me.
This will make a teensy bit more work for me, but I do not mind at all,
if I can keep this nonsense off the list.
Now, does anyone have any REAL news, views, questions, or comments,
about SF & F libraries?
My most recent bit of news came from a site I follow, which noted an
article in the poster's local paper about the SF collection at the U of
Delaware:
http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060918/LIFE/60917015/1005/LIFE
(the story was still online as of a few minutes ago). Author and title
provided for posterity: Gretto, Victor. Sci-fi in all its gaudy glory.
This led me to discover the Library's webpage about the collection:
http://www.lib.udel.edu/ud/spec/guides/scifi.htm
And to this page, from the University's public relations site:
http://www.udel.edu/PR/UDaily/2006/jun/fiction062306.html
I've added the collection to my slowly expanding online list of SF & F
collections at:
http://www.csulb.edu/library/subj/literature/scifi.html#Libs.
Do others of you maintain online SF & F resource guides for your
patrons? Pointers to SF & F special collections? If so, please let us
all know about them.
