Welcome to the Science Fiction & Fantasy Libraries Listserv, or
SFFLibraries-L.

♦ We are an informal listserv community of librarians, archivists,
bibliographers, and others professionally and/or personally concerned
with the literature of the fantastic (science fiction, fantasy, horror,
utopian, dystopian, etc.) in all media.

♦ We are interested in issues of acquisition, organization,
conservation, preservation, dissemination, bibliography, and scholarship
of the materials both physical and digital which constitute the body of
work (literary, visual, aural, and digital) called the fantastic.

♦ We exchange and disseminate information and views regarding issues
such as:

a) the use of those bibliographic and other resources already available;

b) the development of (bibliographic and other) resources needed by
scholars;

c) the identification of potential collections of materials in need of
acquisition or preservation for scholarly purposes;

d) the exchange, as appropriate, of duplicate or locally inappropriate
materials.

♦ We would like to facilitate:

e) the encouragement of educational opportunities and training for
current and potential librarians, archivists, and others concerned with
these materials;

f) the presentation of panels, discussions, poster session, etc., to
discuss these issues.
