In making paintings and photographs, many choices get made, come conscious,
some unconscious.  At this gathering, Dick Griffin and Charles Martin invite
the audience to think and talk with them about some of these choices.


How does  art try to capture something that already exists, and how does it
try to create something new?  How much does art re-visit the past?  How
clear are artists--and viewers--about what they are creating and what they
are looking at.  How much does art depend on the familiar, and much can it
break away?


We will investigate style and method, and the fun (or trouble) of
expression.
