The University of Houston-Victoria is accepting applications for a 
full-time, tenure-track position in Communciation at the rank of 
Assistant Professor. The successful applicant will be an integral member 
of the Communication faculty, teach in a new Publishing program that 
/Inside Higher Education/ recently called an “unlikely haven for 
Humanities publishing,” and lay out books for publication by Fiction 
Collective Two.

 

 

Required qualifications: A PhD or MFA (by August 15, 2009) in 
Communication, Communication Design or related fields; demonstrated 
evidence of teaching excellence; evidence of professional and scholarly 
activities; demonstrable track record in the typesetting and design of 
scholarly and trade books; experience with InDesign or comparable 
publishing software.

 

 

Preferred qualifications: An ability to work in multi-disciplinary and 
interdisciplinary setting; experience with web design software.

 

 

Successful applicants will start in the fall of 2009. Summer teaching is 
normally available at attractive rates.
