I would think anything as "a governing aesthetic" meaning aesthetic 
exclusively followed, would "rapidly exhaust itself."  But "lighght" 
verse has been with us for forty years or more, and is still being 
practiced.  I myself believe one-word poems have about had it, but that 
minimalism will always be as valuable for poets as anything else, but 
only as part of poetry in general.  That is, used in larger works.
