Introduction
This site houses an extensive, growing archive of 27,522 texts to 42,643 settings of Lieder and other classical art songs (Kunstlieder, Mélodies, Romansy, etc.) and other classical vocal pieces such as choral works, madrigals and part-songs, in over 45 languages, with 6,496 volunteer translations to English, French, Spanish, German, and other languages. It was created in May, 1995 by Emily Ezust, and is offered as a free public service.
