Jewel wasn't all that bad, either. If I'd had her as a student in a 
creative writing class, I would have told her she had a lot of promise, 
and encouraged her to keep writing. But I wouldn't have told her to 
publish a book.

Jim Morrison was even worse than Leonard Nimoy. Viggo Mortensen is, I 
believe, pretty serious about poetry. NBA star Tom Meschery attended the 
Iowa Wokshop after his playing career, and wrote some very creditable stuff.
