[New-Poetry] Billy Collins, former laurite

Laurite, as we know, is a rare mineral usually found embedded in concrete,
with highest concentrations in the sidewalks of New York. Its special
properties include an immediate appeal to the eye and a projection of
instant recognition - even to the uninitiated - that this is the real deal:
a bright, shiny object. Closer inspection of the mineral reveals a tendency
for fractal behaviour, with repeated patterns and amplification of its other
special properties. Laurite, in a sense, speaks for itself.
