>From Philip Nikolayev:
For all you lovers of DANIIL KHARMS who read him in English, here finally is the definitive book -- Today I wrote Nothing: The Selected Writings of Daniil Kharms, translated by Matvei Yankelevich (The Overlook Press, 2007). The principal translator (who incidentally is the grandson of Academician Andrei Sakharov, the famous Soviet dissident many of you may remember) is an important writer, poet and publisher based in New York City, and America's top authority of Kharms. He is perfectly bilingual, displays tremendous taste and sensitivity, and has spent a couple of decades working on this volume. This book is the shiznit: I honestly don't believe there has been or will ever be better Kharms in English.
