National Poetry Series Winner selected by Alice Notley
Laynie Browne’s seventh collection emerges from reconstructed tales and
reams. In these fragmented poetic spells, characters disappear and
e-emerge with their charms reconfigured, their stories unraveled, and
heir resolutions elusive.
“An icon for the generation of poets who are about to show up.” –Ron
illiman
Laynie Browne was born and grew up in Los Angeles. She attended the
niversity of California, Berkeley, and Brown University and was awarded
he Gertrude Stein Award in Innovative Poetry three times. She is the
uthor of six other collections of poetry, including Daily Sonnets
Counterpath Press) and Drawing a Swan Before Memory (University of Georgia
ress). She currently lives in Tucson.
