[Halvard Johnson]

American Idler (in the manner of Calvin Trillin)

He lounges out back in the Rose Garden, listening
to whatever songs come wafting through his iPod.
In brief silences between tunes, he hears his god
whisper, “Next time, Iran before Iraq, except after C.”
