"The difficulty of giving expression to the under realized was apparently of
no concern, much less an impediment, for X. Indeed, he (or she) seems quite
untroubled by its prospect. No more, perhaps, than the self-consciousness
shame of a stupid child begging lemonade from the neighbor lady. A filthy
'pleeeeease' crawls up my spine with every line."

 

Or

         "I have never witnessed anyone so enamored of his (or her) own
inadequacies."
