What makes you think a journal has to be about its author, Tad? This
is a serious question. My only "rule" in my journal is that it is
private writing. Which isn't the same thing as autobiographical. I
simply tell myself I don't have to show it to anyone, though of
course quite a lot of stuff makes it out into public view after
incubating & being revised.

Many journal entries are not about me, in any case, and I almost
never use the journal as a diary of my day or my emotional ebb-and-flow.

For that matter, I've seen a great many blogs that are very much
about their authors' every transient notion & emotion.
