Unable to reply from home, where I've been for several days, but I wondered
if that's the title of an essay or the phrasing (borrowed from Levi
Strauss's essay by that title) of an emphasis he reiterated in an essay on a
"raw" poet or tendency in modern and contemporary poetry.
It doesn't appear in his Selected Prose under that title.

I posted this a few days ago, but it may have gotten lost in the shuffle of
Cummings and Raven. I'm looking for Lowell's essay/speech on "The Raw and
the Cooked." Surely it's been collected somewhere?
