Well, value of used books rarely has that much to do (positive or
negative) with contemporary author's quality, it's mostly about
availability.
Then again, I picked up a pristing hardback Monolithos (first
edition-- don't know if there were more) for $2.95 at the used book
store on the corner. It was my first introduction to Gilbert. I marked
the hell out of it before I knew what it was worth (was offered $200
for it when I asked) but would have done so anyway. I don't believe in
reading without a pencil and I don't believe in not marking up books
unless they are going back to the library...
