I agree, and I hope my own words n sharing my first impressions upon meeting
him did not seem too harsh.   That workshop was a remarkable experience-- a
big part of what I learned though, was how to sort through advice and know
what to use and what to quietly put aside.

Jack had a great deal to say, but could also be a terrible editor if you
were not completely on the same page with him, or even if you were.  It took
some effort later on to rid my poems of what I called "Jackisms"-- syntax or
turns of phrase that sounded just too much like I took a workshop with Jack.
