I like Jim's "Election Year" poem (simply for the sentiments expressed), but I'd
love for you, Jim, to expand on this statement: "I'd go farther than that...To
write a poem, in contemporary society, is a political act." Why? Just exactly
how is that? Do you mean by virtue that you are expressing "anti-politician /
political climate" sentiments? What excatly is it about the "contemporary
society," and what exactly is a "political act" (as these function in your
statement)? I'd love for you to expand on your statement. Would you go into
a little greater detail, please. . . ?
