'Virtual' poet Jackie keeps online diary

SCOTS poet Jackie Kay is to be "virtual" poet-in-residence in the lead-up to
National Poetry Day.
The Poetry Society, which organises the day, has chosen the theme of
'identity'.
Jackie will provide a regular online diary of her thoughts on identity and
highlight some of the more inspiring events taking place.
She said: "The issue of identity is at the heart of our society and involves
everyone."
Jackie was born in Edinburgh in 1961 to a Scottish mother and a Nigerian
father and was adopted at birth and brought up in Glasgow.
National Poetry Day will take place on Thursday, October 5.
