POETRY BY ANN NEUSER
LEDERER
TO THE BORDERLINES
To the feral cats in empty
ruins.
To all the honorable mentions,
the full moons waxing, the broken rules,
the fogs, the stews, the swamps, the cesspools,
the backlit and the befuddled, the remote,
the premenstrual tugs, the menopausal nags,
and other hormonal rages.
To the undiagnosed. To the saints disrobed.
To the auras of migraines coming on.
To roads in construction sites, circling nowhere.
To the kids in foster homes and waiting lists;
to the artificial transplants, the unmapped places,
the B pluses, the hangovers, the legally separated,
the deflowered virgins, the worshippers of the
millennium, the broken hearted and the brainstormers.
Ann Lederer was born
in Ohio, and has also lived
and worked in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Kentucky.
She has earned degrees in Anthropology, and Nursing.
Her poems can be found in Wind, Carnegie Press 2,
National Forum, Comstock Review,
Green Hills Literary Lantern, Potato Eyes, Pudding,
New Works Review, and other journals.
She is currently employed as a Hospice Nurse.
