English 2344: Speculative Fiction TerribleWonderful Children in SF Course Work

 

Formal papers:
Over the course of the semester, there will be two essays due.  The first essay, a 4-6 page analysis (900-1350 words), will be due around midterm; the second, more extensive analysis (six to eight pgs; 1350-1800 wds) will be due at the end of the course.  we will offer topics in a Netforum, into which you can post these papers.

Netforums:
Alongside the more formal writing, we will also post writings into a Netforum several times in the semester.  These writings, while more informal, are required to be exploratory, "thinking-in-progress" writings, of aproximately 500-1000 words in length.  Topics will be posted, though certainly your own thinking will guide that conversation.

MOOs:
Once per week, we will meet for a "real-time" conversation, using the EBBS "SF Cafe" Moo.  If you need help accessing the MOO, please contact Len Hatfield or Marc Zaldivar.
