The Marriott is located on a 27-acre site in the lovely, upscale beachside community of Manhattan Beach, known for its surfing and volleyball competitions and wide sandy beaches. The hotel overlooks a nine-hole golf course and features a health club, sauna, outdoor heated pool, excellent food and service and elegant rooms with high speed internet access and computer data ports. A Hertz rental car agency is located in the hotel lobby, and rental clubs are available for the golf course. More than 90 shops and restaurants are within walking distance of the hotel, and the beach is just 1.5 miles away.

It is very important to mention the Children’s Literature Association in order to receive the conference rate of $119 per night. You must also make your reservations before Friday, May 12, 2006. After this date, the unreserved rooms will be released and the going rate for the hotel (currently well over $200) will prevail. So make your reservations early!
